What Do We Value?

Sisterhood, Personal Growth, Family, Safety, Truth, Vulnerability, Authenticity

Sis It's Safe is an organization that provides a safe space for Black and Brown women to release the many expectations imposed on us and embrace our truest and most fulfilling purpose. We achieve this through guided discussions and activities that promote sisterhood, healing, growth, and self-expression.

Services

Sis operates through memberships in our SiS-iety, offering guided discussions rooted in trauma-informed curriculum—both in-person and virtually. Our workshops are highly interactive, blending hands-on activities that support learning, foster sisterhood, and encourage growth, healing, self-reflection, and authentic expression.

And yes… we say bad words! Because we know that healing isn’t always quiet—sometimes, it’s loud, raw, and real.

About Us

In a world that rewards the "doing" at Sis we value and embrace the "being." We shed all of the various titles that we carry. In this space, we are not here to compete, just connect!

Meet Our Team

We're more than colleagues, we're family. Kenya Brown (CEO), Lashaunda (CFO), and Linda Teixeira Reyes (COO) are the powerhouse trio behind Sis, It's Safe. Bound by an unshakeable friendship forged over 30 years growing up in Brockton, MA, we know what it means to be a single mom navigating a system stacked against you.

We've all shouldered the weight of raising children alone, battling social structures that offered little support and mountains of judgment. Frustrated by the lack of safe spaces to connect and share our experiences, we decided to create the one we desperately needed. Sis, It's Safe was born from this shared struggle, a beacon of hope and understanding for all the phenomenal, women out there.

Join us and find your tribe, your sisters who understand the hustle, the heart, and the fierce love that defines us.

Chief Executive Officer

Kenya Milfort Brown

Kenya Brown, the CEO of Sis, It's Safe, isn't just our leader, she's the spark that ignited our entire mission. A two-time author ("Open" and "Wide Open") and social media maven, Kenya's brilliant vision brought us together.

But Kenya's more than just titles. As a wife, mother of six, and champion for women's issues, Kenya understands the importance of education. She wanted to couple her lived experience with education and is currently pursuing a degree in psychology with a concentration in clinical therapy. She understands firsthand the struggles and triumphs of single moms. Frustrated by the lack of support systems, Kenya's idea to create a safe space for connection became the foundation of Sis, It's Safe.

She's a powerhouse with a heart of gold, dedicated to empowering single moms and building a sisterhood of strength.
